The Objective

Going into the project, we had three key goals when building the site for Milner Feed & Pet Supply:

  1. Design: The design of the site had to align with the existing brand identity of Milner Feed & Pet Supply.
  2. Informational: The site needed to present information clearly, allowing users to easily access details such as store hours and location.
  3. Showcase Rich History: We aimed to create a dedicated section to showcase the rich history and heritage of the store, emphasizing its status as a family-owned and operated business.

By addressing these three goals, we aimed to create a website that represents the essence of Milner Feed & Pet Supply while providing a seamless and engaging experience for its visitors.

Our Strategy

When designing a website for Milner Feed & Pet Supply, our strategy was straightforward - blend functionality with the brand's unique story. As a family-owned business supporting local and Canadian brands, it was crucial for us to highlight these aspects in a clear, engaging manner.

In our design approach, we prioritized user experience and brand consistency. We seamlessly integrated the brand's colors into the website design, fostering a sense of uniformity and professionalism that echoed Milner Feed & Pet Supply's brand identity. At the same time, we knew how vital it was for users not to feel overwhelmed by information, so we carefully crafted our UI/UX elements to be intuitive and user-friendly.

Upon landing on the website, users are presented with a non-intrusive pop-up that delivers crucial details such as business hours, location, and any relevant announcements. Once this is dismissed, users are ushered into an immersive full-screen hero section. This section is not only visually engaging, but it also features pertinent call-to-actions catered to common pet needs, ensuring a smooth and engaging user journey right from the start.

Navigation was also a focal point of our design. It needed to be easy for customers to navigate the site and find out if they carried the products and brands they were looking for. The "products" section was created as a mega-menu, unveiling a range of product categories and pages featuring Milner Feed & Pet Supply's premium brands. This approach makes it super easy for customers to find specific brands but also browse around and learn about new ones.

Another key aspect of the website was the "Our Story" page. This page was designed to showcase the rich history of Milner Feed & Pet Supply, highlighting its status as a family-owned and operated business. This page features a timeline that takes users through the store's history, from its humble beginnings to its current status as a trusted destination for pet owners. The page also features a gallery of images that further emphasizes the store's heritage and commitment to the community.

Ultimately, our strategy balanced functional needs with the unique story of Milner Feed & Pet Supply, crafting a digital experience that was both efficient and reflective of the brand's values and offerings.

The Results

At the end of the project, Milner Feed & Pet Supply had a stunning new website that perfectly matched their brand identity, showcased their heritage, and provided all the information their customers needed. Our team also optimised the website for search engines and is currently providing 24/7 security monitoring, daily backups and frequent updates to ensure that Milner Feed & Pet Supply's digital presence is as lasting and as iconic as their stores heritage.
